Emo-pop honesty. Turning self-doubt into catchy anthems, one city at a time.
Moanzy turns his self-doubt into catchy anthems, blending Emo-pop with Pop-punk to create music that feels both raw and uplifting. His lyrics explore love, pain, and too much self awareness. This connects deeply with fans who find solace in his authenticity.
From Tokyo's bustling streets to Brazil's lively squares, Moanzy's music captivates audiences around the globe. His dynamic performances pull listeners into a world where vulnerability meets strength.
Born into a musical household as the son of a guitar teacher, Moanzy picked up his first guitar at age 10 and hasn't stopped playing since. Growing up in a quiet suburb, he dreamed of a life on the road, sharing his music with the world — but after finishing school, he followed his father's advice and began an IT traineeship instead.
The deeper he sank into a "normal" life, the stronger his passion for music became. At 20, everything changed when he fell in love with a harp-playing street artist — a relationship that shaped his sound and pushed him to start publishing music and performing regularly.
After the relationship ended, Moanzy channeled the fallout into music, busking and collaborating with international artists across São Paulo and Lisbon. His sound evolved from traditional pop/rock into R&B, melodic trap, and lo-fi soul influences.
Moanzy is also a vocal advocate for mental health. Diagnosed with ADHD at seven, he stopped taking medication as a teen, choosing instead to embrace his authentic, "messy" self. "I'd rather be a twitchy and annoying mess than feel nothing at all," he says.
